Dubbelinterview with Franky De-Smet-Van-Damme & Mikey Doling from Channel Zero on Graspop Metal Meeting Dessel by Studio Brussel. (in Dutch and English)

FRANKY : Yes, good evening, good evening.
Stu Bru : Franky, I suppose you are very busy rehearsing ?
FRANKY : Yes that's right, we have rehearsed for three days now, and it goes unlikely good, we are very happy.
Stu Bru : You know yourself how many more nights you really have to sleep until it's so far ? Do you make a countdown ?
FRANKY : Whoh, no, no, I think that is creating stress.
Stu Bru : (laughs)
FRANKY : And now everything is going so well, it seems to me that we don't have to force it now.
Stu Bru : That's true, so there is no provisional calendar on the wall on which crosses are put on for every passed day ?
FRANKY : Oh, no, no, 'k don't think that will happen, I think we all follow good planning, and we are aware of what is, and what should be done.
Stu Bru : And how does it feel to play the old Channel Zero songs again?
FRANKY : It's going nice and easy, which is incredible, maybe almost better than we had dared to dream.
Stu Bru : You still got the feeling ?
FRANKY : I think that it's still there, yes absolutely.
Stu Bru : Franky, I call you, obviously not because you are rehearsing, but because you have big news today !
FRANKY : Yes, today we are announcing the person who's gonna play the guitar with us, and that's Mikey Doling.  That's a person who comes actually from the other side of the world, but he fits in the group like he always has been there.
Stu Bru : And who is he exactly?
FRANKY : That boy has a long time, I think a five-six years, toured the world with Soulfly.
Stu Bru : Allright.
FRANKY : He has formed his own band Snot, but good, by the death of the singer that band has dissapeared for a while, but the guy plays in Mudtrain, falls in with Evanessence, he is someone who knows his world.
Stu Bru : When he has played with great bands, that suits well with Channel Zero, so Mikey is his name, can I maybe have him on the phone ?
FRANKY: Yes, I'm just going to pass him on, Mikey ...
MIKEY : Hello !
Stu Bru : Hay, Mikey ?
MIKEY : Yes!
Stu Bru : Congrats, with being the guitar player with Channel Zero !
MIKEY : Hey, thank you very much !
Stu Bru : Do you realise what you got yourself into, it's Belgian's finest and most popular metal band ever ?
MIKEY : (laughs) Yes, I do realise that, I'm very happy to be a part of it.
Stu Bru : And did you know Channel Zero before they asked you to join them ?
MIKEY : You know, I was not very familiar with Channel Zero, I've heard of them back maybe in the nineties.  But I was very bussy in touring at the time, you know, so I've heared their music for the first time maybe four mounths ago.
Stu Bru : And what do you think about the music ?
MIKEY : I think it's fantastic.
Stu Bru : Yeah ?
MIKEY : Timeless, yeah, it's really really good, I have been asked to play in lot of bands, and I usually say no, when I don't like the music, and I've heared this music and I was instantly like, yeah I wanna play that, I like that.
Stu Bru : And how is it to play together with the guys, is it easy to fit in ?
MIKEY : Yeah it's very easy, I walked into a reahersal and it was like we had been playing together for years, it was realy good chimistry.
Stu Bru : Allright, cool.
MIKEY : We're gonna kick ass.
Stu Bru : We're looking foreward already to the giggs in January, I wish you all the best of it.
MIKEY : Thank you so much, I'll see you in january and you now it's gonna be rock 'n roll times.
Stu Bru : Allright, looking foreward to that one, Mikey, thanks a lot, bye bye.
MIKEY : Ok, allright, tsjow !
