Channel Zero "Feed em With a Brick" comes from nowhere up to the second place in the Album top 100 !



Feed 'Em With A Brick is obviously well tasted by the music lovers, immediately after the release it was the most wanted album on i-tunes.

In the stores the sales go super as well, Free Record Shop told that the new Channel Zero album was the best sold cd/lp from all type of music they sell.

NEW STUDIO PLANS & AB CONCERT SUNDAY 16 JANUARY 2011 MOVED !

Marc Rizzo, Logan Mader & Max CavaleraAt January 17, 2011 Channel Zero will start recording a new album in Los Angeles, in the producer's seat none other than Logan Mader (ex Machine Head, Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy and Devildriver).

The AB show of Sunday, January 16, 2011 moved to Den Atelier in Luxembourg. Tickets for the concert on 01/16/2011 AB can be exchanged for a ticket on Friday 14 or Saturday, January 15 or be refunded where the ticket was purchased.

For AB concerts Friday, January 14 and Saturday, January 15, there are still some tickets available.

Tickets purchased for 16.01 AB are not valid for Den Atelier ! Here you can order tickets for the concert in The Studio.

 As a foretaste of the new album Channel Zero will play some new songs at the AB with as guest Phil Demmel (Machine Head, ex-Vio-Excellence).

What a wonderful story! In Belgium's rich history, there has only been one widely successful metal band. They called it quits after a brief yet intense existence and disappeared from the radar, to resurrect like a phoenix some thirteen years later. We are talking about Channel Zero, since January of 2010 the band which played most gigs in a row at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. They sold out the venue no less than six times in a row. Tickets for the first three show sold in under fifty minutes. For those who never had the opportunity to see them live: not to be missed. Channel Zero is “a metal band with cataclysmic live power” (Q, 1995). In Belgium, they managed to achieve everything, thanks to a series of classic songs – ‘Help’, ‘Black Fuel’, ‘Suck My Energy’ – blending hip-hop and metal into loud rock. See also contemporaries Rage Against The Machine. The band got their moniker from hip-hop icon Public Enemy, by the way. Unfortunately, the rest of the world wouldn't follow. Not even when Ice-T outed himself as a big fan. In 1997, Channel Zero split abruptly. They had even played Rock Werchter that summer. And that's where they will be this year. So the story simply continues.

Last Sunday at the Galaxy Studios at Mol, the final stereo mix and 5.1 of the Channel Zero dvd was finished.

Kinepolis BrusselToday the editing of the video starts, and next week the Channel Zero dvd will finally be finished.

Late April the ultimate apotheosis will follow with the premiere in the halls of Kinepolis cinema complexes all over Belgium, a premiere for a Belgian group.

New single "Hot Summer" from Channel Zero will soon be available, with matching clip (watch the teaser).

The last couple of days Channel Zero has made two clips to promote their new album.
 
The first single from the album will be "Hot Summer".  The corresponding video was shot in the Mojave Desert and on Edwards Air Force Base.
 
The second single "In the city" has also been made in the city of LA.

Remember that there are still some tickets available for the concert in Den Atelier - Luxemburg le 16/01/2011.  A good alternative for those who were not able to obtain tickets in Brussels.

Yesterday the first rehearsals with Phil Demmel guitarist of Machine Head started.  According to the latest news everything goes smoothly.

On January 17, the group starts the recordings for the brand new cd.  


If they no longer play this one, the next three concerts I will eat my hat, I promise !

2010 was the year of Belgium’s Best Metal Band: Channel Zero

Channel Zero sold out the main hall of the AB in no time and no less than six (6!) times over. They surprised friend and foe with this feat and in doing so they laid claim to to a considerable chapter in the future pop-encyclopedia of our national music history. That didn't go unnoticed by the big festivals. At Rock Werchter they will be playing on the Main Stage just before Gossip and at Graspop Metal Meeting they will be playing after legend Slash and just before Soulfly. Afterwards the band (still with brand new guitarist Mikey Doling) will retreat for 6 months to work on new material. In January 2011 – exactly a year after their legendary AB concert series – Channel Zero will once again appear in AB. Undoubtedly for a new explosive concert series again, on Friday 14, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January 2011 respectively. Aside from the familiar repertoire, these will also be the first concerts in which the new material is to be heard. Expect a number of international guests to give the whole thing that extra cachet too.
 
Please note: pre-sales for these concerts will commence on Monday 28 June at 11am.

Last night Channel Zero finaly kicked off the first of their seven (!) concerts at the Ab Brussels.  The first one was immediately a special one, not only for the fans but also for the group.




The concert was a great success thanks to the graceful hand movements of the interpreters who ensured a flawless translation of the Channel nummmers for our bad hearing fellow human beings.

Meanwhile it was revealed that Billy The Kill will be the first openingsact of the Channel Zero concert on January 24.

Channel Zero is back with a bang !  No group has ever been able to sell out the great hall of the AB 6x in a row. Twelve thousand people will experience the comeback of the best metal band from Belgium.  Twenty years after its creation and with 5 albums to choose from, Franky DSVD singer, violent drummer Phil B. and bass player Tino De Martino will certainly do shake the Ab to its foundations.  Original guitarist Xavier Carion is replaced (due to hearing problemes) by the clattering international guitarist Mike Doling (ex-Soulfly).
 
Six concerts in AB also means 6 opportunities for emerging groups to show themselves as the openingact for a sold-out AB concert hall.  Channel Zero and AB will fill in 4 of those 6 places, but will also look for new metal talent.  Channel Zero, as a real Belgian group from both parts of the country, may do so with the collaboration of Classic 21, Studio Brussel and Poppunt.

The song "Black Fuel" of Channel Zero has been chosen to brighten up the trailer of "Malice in Lalaland".

Malice in Lalaland is an erotic picture and somewhat based on two books by Lewis Carroll: "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through The Looking Glass".
The film prides itself to contain a well thought-adventure, grand sexscenes and many Rock 'n Roll.  With Channel Zero they are already on the right wavelength concerning the music.

Sasha Grey (right)The delights in the film are performed by: Sasha Gray, Keni Styles, Ron Jeremy, Jenna Presley, Lisa Ann and Lyn phoenix.  The direction and script were completed by Lew Xypher.

The movie comes in circulation on January 25, 2010 in Hollywood, here we go !

Approximately one month before the first reunion concert Channel Zero has launched a website: channel-zero.be.  On the site you can read that Channel Zero is searching for their biggest fan, who will be rewarded with some great prizes.

Channel Zero is also in the latest issue of Aardschok.  It is reported that new Channel Zero material can not be excluded.

Channel ZeroChannel Zero still has a fanatic fanbase, but who is the biggest fan of them all ? By way of a contest on the Ab-site Channel fans can combat each other to gain this title by answering ten questions about their favourite group.

Not only the title is the prize, the winner can meet and greet the band members, go to a unique private concert of the band and can assist to all 6 (!) concerts at the Ab in January together with a (girl)friend.
To recover from the free ale (Stella) and al the beautiful moments the winner shall have, every night the lucky one can stay in a luxe hotel room in Brussels.

6 concerts in AB also means 6 opportunities to have an up-and-coming band perform for a full AB hall, as support act. Channel Zero and AB will be filling 4 of the 6 spots themselves, but will also be searching for budding new metal talent. Because Channel Zero is a true Belgian band, with members from both parts of the country, the search will take place through Classic 21 and Studio Brussel. How exactly everything will organised shall be communicated at a later date, but you can already be sure to keep an ear on both broadcasters!

On the day prior to the official comeback Channel Zero will play a very unique concert. Namely, on that Thursday 21 January the band will perform especially for people with a handicap. The AB, intro (Guide for Accessible Events and Inclusive Projects) and Win For Life get together and make quite some effort to also offer people with a limitation the opportunity to experience this metal excellence live. The concert hall will be divided into two parts (a part for the “standing” concert-goers and a part for the wheelchair users and those less mobile), footstools that convert sound into vibrations will be placed for those with an auditive handicap, the blind and visually impaired will be able to touch the instruments on stage, there will be Flemish sign-language translators present, there will be a special service space available, there will be appropriate communication for people with a intellectual limitation and everyone will be able to reach the AB via a special bus service.

Equal opportunities for everyone and the broadest possible public participation are ideals that Win For Life has always placed importance upon. So it was only logical to take part a project in which those ideals are realized so concretely. The much esteemed assistance of intro, with their years of expertise in the organisation of similar events, was requested for the organisational aspects. Channel Zero is fiercely enthusiastic and together with the three organising partners we're already priding ourself on possibly organising the most accessible concert ever. Mikey DolingMikey Doling is a 41 years old heavy metal guitar player who was born in Hollywood California.

He has produced over twenty albums as co-founder of Gridiron Records (C 420, Old Fashioned Beatdown, Chris Bengs, Age OV Reason...)

He played the guitar with Snot and made three albums : Get Some (1997), Strait Up (1999) en Alive ! (2002).  Then he joined Soulfly.  You can hear him play on two of their albums : Primitive (2000) en III (2002).

when I was a planetIn 2003 he made together with Devil Driver the album with the same title.  With Soulfly bassist Marcello D. Rapp, drummer Roy Mayorga, Levon Sultanian en Jasan Radford, guitar player and singer of One Side Zero he played with Abloom.

His latest group was Invitro who made the album "When I Was A Planet" in 2007.

Now he'll join Channel Zero to replace Xavier Carion who's out due to a traumatized ear.

Meanwhile guitarist Xavier Carion, who has hearing problems no longer plays live.  He will be replaced by the American Mike Doling, known from Soulfly and second from left in the picture.

Singer Franky De Smet-Van Damme doesn't exclude that the group will make a new studio album, but there are no concrete plans for that yet.  The same is true for any festival gigs.  The group wants to see how the reunion concerts run.

Channel Zero is back with a bang ! Never before has a band sold out the main hall of the AB 6x in a row, at least 12.000 people will experience the comeback of Belgium's best metal band. 20 Years after their establishment and with 5 albums to choose from, singer Franky DSVD, drumming force Phil B and bassist Tino De Martino shall surely shake the AB to its foundations.

Franky DSVDFranky DSVD: "We'd hoped to sell out the Ab once, but this result is above expectations.  We're very pleased with the communication, we were able to give our fans a new chance to buy tickets and made the extremely high prices for tickets on ebay needless.  I notice that young metalheads are very intersted in us, I suppose there's need for some excitement in music land."


Tino De MartinoTino De Martino: "We have the possibility to add another show, but we'll stick to 6 !  The Ab is the perfect location for us.  Our roots are in Brussels, our fans live in Flanders and Wallonie.  We could have sold out Vorst twice as well, but I prefer to amuse myself 6 times in a row close to our fans, in stead of going to a bigger hall."

Phil B.Phil B.: "We start the Ab rehearsals this week.  They already want us to do so many clubshows and summer festivals in 2010, even foreign tours, but we'll focus completely on the Ab concerts now.  Later on we'll see what's going to happen.  Watch out, we're back, January 2010 Brussels is ours !  We're gonna burn the place down !!

After three reunion concerts, sold out in less than one hour, Channel Zero our national metal pride, adds two concerts to their calendar.  So also on Thursday, January 28 and Friday, January 29, the band from singer Franky De Smet-Van Damme will be on stage at the Ancienne Belgique. The presale for the additional concerts starts tomorrow at 11 am, tickets cost 33 €.

Exactly 49 minutes, more time the Belgian band Channel Zero didn't no need to sell all tickets for their three reunion concerts in the Ab.  An absolute record that astonishes our most popular metal band ever.  "On the auction site Ebay, tickets go over 130€", "We'd never expected this", said frontman Franky De Smet-Van Damme. "We think about adding more concerts to our reunion list."

Ice TMid-1995 things suddenly went fast for Channel Zero.  The band could replace Live at Werchter and was noticed there by Body Count.  Ice-T immediately offered them a place as openings act for his European tour.  Late '97, the group stopped at its peak.  But their popularity today seems hardly to have shrinked.  "Frankly we had hoped to have one sold out concert at the AB."  "That there's three concerts sold out now, is unbelievable.", says vocalist Franky.  "The most sensational thing is that since this happened, I still receive requests by people who couldn't buy a ticket, and absolutely want to see us."  "To disappoint no one, we don't exclude additional concerts."  For the fans: guitarist Xavier Carion will no longer be on stage.  He had to deal with an ear trauma and can't support the sound on stage anymore.

BRUSSELS / A reunion has been awaited for twelve years.  But on January 22, 2010 Channel Zero comes back together in the Ancienne Belgique, for a single concert. The most famous metal band from Belgium, who sold 60.000 albums of Unsafe,  stopped to perform at Marktrock in '97.

Unsafe"Ever since people non-stop appealed a reunion," says frontman Franky De Smet-Van Damme.  "But I still was surprised when on Facebook a "We Want a Reunion Concert" Channel Zero-page was made.  In one month the page had over 2.500 members.  Then I began to realize how much the group had exatly meant to the fans."

Twelve years ago, Channel Zero stopped, after joint consultations.  A decision which the singer would call : "The fuel was empty after a very heavy trip.  We wanted to stop in beauty, instead of going on endlessly, and finally kill each other".  Time has healed those wounds, however. "We have decided to leave the past behind.  Everyone wants this reunion, which was also a prerequisite.  That guitarist Xavier Carion's missing in the line-up is for health reasons.  He can't stand high volumes anymore.


The fans are especially critical of the unique character of Channel Zero's comeback: "Well, one single concert in the Ab isn't much I know" Franky DSVD readily admit. "I have a good feeling about the reunion, but times have changed.  Perhaps no one's waiting for us anymore.  Furthermore, if the tickets are sold out quickly, there's a very real chance that we'll give an extra concert."


The presale starts tomorrow at 11 am, on January 22 in the AB in Brussels. Tickets cost 33 euros.

I've the honor and pleasure to welcome you on the newest Channel Zero fansite.  When Channel Zero decided to make a comeback I couldn't resist making a new website for them.  To honour the band and his heavy fanbase.  This isn't the first website I'm making together with my soulmate Koen (Keon), we're also making the  Arno fansite.

Mind that the site still is under construction.  With time there will be pages and items added.  So if you're a great fan of Channel Zero and you'll think some pieces of their history are missing, don't panic.  Stay calm and be patient, one day you'll surely find it over here.  Some stuff is already more or less accomplished, other things still need some time to be finished.
