BRUSSELS / A reunion has been awaited for twelve years. But on January 22, 2010 Channel Zero comes back together in the Ancienne Belgique, for a single concert. The most famous metal band from Belgium, who sold 60.000 albums of Unsafe, stopped to perform at Marktrock in '97.
Exactly 49 minutes, more time the Belgian band Channel Zero didn't no need to sell all tickets for their three reunion concerts in the Ab. An absolute record that astonishes our most popular metal band ever. "On the auction site Ebay, tickets go over 130€", "We'd never expected this", said frontman Franky De Smet-Van Damme. "We think about adding more concerts to our reunion list."
After three reunion concerts, sold out in less than one hour, Channel Zero our national metal pride, adds two concerts to their calendar. So also on Thursday, January 28 and Friday, January 29, the band from singer Franky De Smet-Van Damme will be on stage at the Ancienne Belgique. The presale for the additional concerts starts tomorrow at 11 am, tickets cost 33 €.

Après les trois concerts de réunification de Channel Zero, vendus en moins d'une heure, notre fierté nationale metal, ajoutera deux concerts extra. Donc aussi Jeudi, Janvier 28 et Vendredi, Janvier 29, la bande autour du chanteur Franky De Smet-Van Damme sera sur la scène de l'Ancienne Belgique. Mikey DolingMikey Doling a 41 ans, le guitariste de métal lourd pur sang vient d'Hollywood en Californie.
En tant que co-fondateur de Records Gridiron, il a produit plus de vingt albums (par exemple, C 420, Old Fashioned Beat Down, Chris Benge, Age of Reason ... OV)
La veille de son retour officiel, Channel Zero donnera un concert très particulier. Le jeudi 21 janvier, le groupe jouera en effet spécialement pour un parterre de personnes handicapées.
6 concerts à l'AB, cela signifie aussi 6 occasions pour un groupe émergent d’en assurer la première partie devant une salle pleine à craquer. Channel Zero et l'AB se chargeront de programmer 4 des 6 premières parties. Pour les 2 dates restantes, ils sont à la recherche de nouveaux artistes métal en plein développement . Channel Zero étant un vrai groupe belge avec des membres émanant des deux communautés du pays, l’appel sera lancé via Classic 21 et Studio Brussel.

THE BIRTH OF CHANNEL ZERO
Channel Zero was a purely Belgian bred band, of which the members all came from Brussels, the only city where Flemings and Walloons drink a pint together.
On March 1, 1990, two existing Belgian groups melted together. The trio: Patrice Hubloux (guitar), Tino Olivier de Martino (bass) and drummer Phil Baheux left Sixty Nine, and Franky De Smet Van Damme (singer) and guitar player Xavier Carion stopped playing with Bacteria.

Channel ZeroChannel Zero heeft nog steeds een zeer fanatieke fanbase, maar wie is de állergrootste fan?
On the day prior to the official comeback Channel Zero will play a very
unique concert. Namely, on that Thursday 21 January the band will
perform especially for people with a handicap.
Channel ZeroChannel Zero still has a fanatic fanbase, but who is the biggest fan of them all ? By way of a contest on the Ab-site Channel fans can combat each other to gain this title by answering ten questions about their favourite group.
Not only the title is the prize, the winner can meet and greet the band members, go to a unique private concert of the band and can assist to all 6 (!) concerts at the Ab in January together with a (girl)friend.
6 concerts in AB also means 6 opportunities to have an up-and-coming band perform for a full AB hall, as support act. Channel Zero and AB will be filling 4 of the 6 spots themselves, but will also be searching for budding new metal talent. Because Channel Zero is a true Belgian band, with members from both parts of the country, the search will take place through Classic 21 and Studio Brussel.
Mikey DolingMikey Doling is a 41 years old heavy metal guitar player who was born in Hollywood California.
He has produced over twenty albums as co-founder of Gridiron Records (C 420, Old Fashioned Beatdown, Chris Bengs, Age OV Reason...)
He played the guitar with Snot and made three albums : Get Some (1997), Strait Up (1999) en Alive ! (2002). Then he joined Soulfly. You can hear him play on two of their albums : Primitive (2000) en III (2002).

Als grondlegger van de metal in België, mocht Channel Zero z'n terugkeer niet mislopen. Er werd dan ook vol ongeduld gewacht op hun vierde album en niet alleen bij ons, maar ook tot ver buiten onze grenzen. De grenzen die de groep kon oversteken dankzij "Unsafe". Het is jammergenoeg zonder naar "Black Fuel" die vers van de pers is gerold te kunnen luisteren (wegens verzendingsperikelen) dat de ontmoeting plaatsvond. In alle exclusiviteit delen Phil B. (drummer), Tino De Martino (bassist), Xavier Carion (gitaar) en Franky D.S.V.D. (zanger) met ons hun eerste impressies in een mistige atmosfeer. Het interview vindt plaats in La Trappe, hun repetitielokaal, op een vrijdag de dertiende.

6 concerten in AB betekent tevens 6 kansen om een opkomende groep voor een volle AB-zaal te laten optreden in het voorprogramma. Channel Zero en AB zullen zelf 4 van die 6 plaatsen invullen, maar zullen ook op zoek gaan naar nieuw ontluikend metaltalent. Omdat Channel Zero een echte Belgische band is met groepsleden uit beide landsdelen zal dit gebeuren via Classic 21 en Studio Brussel (ism Poppunt).
De dag voor de officiële comeback zal Channel Zero een wel heel uniek concert geven. Op die donderdag 21 januari zal de band namelijk speciaal voor mensen met een handicap optreden. De AB, intro (Leidraad voor Toegankelijke Evenementen en Inclusieve Projecten) en Win For Life slaan de handen in elkaar en zullen heel wat inspanningen leveren om ook mensen met een beperking de kans te geven deze metalgrootheid live mee te maken. De concertzaal zal in twee delen worden ingedeeld (een deel voor de “rechtstaande” concertgangers en het deel voor de rolstoelgebruikers en mensen die slecht ter been zijn), er zullen voelstoelen gezet worden die het geluid in trilling omzetten voor personen met een auditieve handicap, blinden en slechtzienden zullen op het podium de instrumenten kunnen aanraken, er zullen tolken Vlaamse gebarentaal aanwezig zijn, er zal een special service ruimte aanwezig zijn, er zal aangepaste communicatie zijn voor mensen met een verstandelijke beperking en iedereen zal via een speciale busservice tot in AB kunnen geraken.

Channel Zero stond nog nooit in de Tijdloze, en dat is om het zacht uit te drukken een regelrechte schande !

Mikey DolingMikey Doling is een 41 jarige heavy metal gitarist pur sang afkomstig uit Hollywood California.
Z'n sterrebeeld is weegschaal en hij is volgens de laatste berichten vrijgezel (tot zo ver het Dag Allemaal gehalte van dit bericht).
Als mede stichter van Gridiron Records heeft hij reeds meer dan twintig albums geproduced (oa C 420, Old Fashioned Beatdown, Chris Bengs, Age OV Reason...)
CHANNEL ZERO is definitely back, 6 x Ab sold out in record time !
Channel Zero is back with a bang ! Never before has a band sold out the main hall of the AB 6x in a row, at least 12.000 people will experience the comeback of Belgium's best metal band. 20 Years after their establishment and with 5 albums to choose from, singer Franky DSVD, drumming force Phil B and bassist Tino De Martino shall surely shake the AB to its foundations.
Nadat de drie reünieconcerten van Channel Zero in minder dan een uur uitverkochten, doet onze nationale metaltrots er twee concerten bij. Dus ook op donderdag 28 januari en vrijdag 29 januari staat de band rond zanger Franky De Smet-Van Damme op het podium in de Ancienne Belgique. De voorverkoop voor die bijkomende concerten start morgen om 11 uur. Tickets kosten 33 euro
De Morgen Telex
Exact 49 minuten. Meer tijd had het Belgische Channel Zero niet nodig om drie keer de AB uit te verkopen voor hun reünie. Een absoluut record, dat ook onze populairste metalband ooit met verstomming sloeg. Tickets halen op veilingsite eBay al 130 euro. «Dit hadden we nooit verwacht», aldus frontman Franky De Smet-Van Damme. «We sluiten niet uit er nog concerten bijkomen.»
CHANNEL ZERO SCOORT ZUIVERE HATTRICK TE AB: drie reünieconcerten in recordtempo uitverkocht!
BRUSSEL / Een reünie heeft twaalf jaar op zich laten wachten, maar op 22 januari 2010 is het dan toch zover: dan komt Channel Zero opnieuw bij elkaar in de Ancienne Belgique, zij het voor een eenmalig concert. De bekendste metalgroep van België, die van het meesterlijke Unsafe 60.000 platen verkocht, legde er het bijltje bij neer na hun optreden op Marktrock in '97 .
Metallica staat op nummer 1 in De Zwaarste Lijst, de top 70 van de zwaarste gitaren die voor de eerste keer door Studio Brussel werd opgesteld. Opvallend is dat Metallica niet met 'One', dat het traditioneel goed doet in De Tijdloze van StuBru, maar met 'Master of Puppets' de lijst aanvoert. 'One' vinden we pas terug op de vierde plek.
In totaal staat Metallica elf keer in De Zwaarste Lijst. Tool komt met zes noteringen op de tweede plaats, AC/DC staat er vijf keer in.
